I received an Honourable Mention for three images in the Amateur Wildlife category, and one image in the Amateur Landscapes category, of the prestigious Monochrome Photography Awards of 2022.
As an added bonus, my image “The Guardian” has been selected to be published in the Monochrome Awards 2022 Annual Book.

The polar regions are the most climate-sensitive areas in the world, and temperatures in the Arctic are rising more than twice as fast as the global average. This increase in temperatures results in large changes in sea ice conditions, with both thickness and extent following negative trends. This image was taken in northern Svalbard in late May, and captures the beauty of the icy environment, and possibly a scene that will slowly disappear in future decades.
